Damn Sloe Gin

Sloe gin is a proper English tradition, and we’ll be honest, most of the stuff you can buy doesn’t cut it.

We set out to change that, carefully concocting a mixture seasonal British sloes and damsons with London dry gin to make something that tastes a little bit special.

We know what you’re thinking, damsons? well… the addition of damsons might be a departure from the traditional sloe gin recipe, but their naturally higher sugar content and rich flavour make for an absolutely delicious drink, and allow us to cut down on the added sugar. it’s a British classic, but done in our own Longdon Liquors way.

We blend locally sourced, hand-picked sloe and damson berries, steeped in high-quality London dry gin for a minimum of 10 months with a touch of sugar, creating a smooth, rich liqueur that is equally delicious and neat over ice or mixed with tonic. This is unlike any other sloe gin you’ve had.

Tasting Notes

A complex and layered taste, initially you’re met with sweet and tart flavours of dark berries making way to subtle spicy notes and nutty stone fruit flavours. The juniper base from the gin provides a grounding botanical character, balancing the sweetness. A beautifully smooth mouth feel, Damn Sloe Gin is rich and full-bodied on the palate. The finish is a smooth warming sensation, sweet notes making way to subtle tart fruity aftertaste.
